This Hmong pepper dipping sauce is perfect for serving with any grilled, bbq and ovened meat. Its also perfect for eggrolls, steamed rice rolls and cabbage rolls (these recipes can be found on this website).
10 chilli peppers (red and green) or more if desire
Pinch of salt
2 tb fish sauce
1 large garlic clove
2-3 TB of Lime juice
2 green onions & about 1/2 cup of minced cilantro
Optional: pinch of msg
In a mortar, pound pepper, garlic, salt, and msg. then add green onions and pound 2-4 times before tossing the cilantro to pound another time. Toss with a spoon while pounding. Add fish sauce, lime juice and stir with spoon. add more pepper or salt if desire. Transfer over to a small bowl to serve with meat and rice.
